Week of Feb. 25th-29th

Monday:  Students will describe and define lines of symmetry and determine congruence and symmetry. [Lessons 13-5 & 13-6; 6.3.spi.4]

Homework:  Finish last Study Island assignment and study for Ch. 13 Test!!! 

Tuesday: Students will identify the results of transformations of 2-D figures (rotations, reflections, and translations) & review for ch. 13 Test.

Homework:   Study for Ch. 13 Test!!! 

Wednesday: Students will take Ch. 13 Test.  Afterwards, we will identify and use the formula to find the volume of rectangular prisms. [Lesson 14-5, 6.4.spi.4]

Homework: none 

Thursday: Students will take their third Thinklink Learning math assessment.  If time allows, students will investigate building a 3-D figure from a net and vice-versa.

Homework:  none 

Friday: International Day activities have been planned for the entire school day.  Math class will likely not meet today.

Monday:  Students will complete TCAP Countdown Week 8.   Students will go to the computer lab to take Thinklink practice probes.   If students do not finish all three tests, they must complete them by Friday (Feb. 1st) The codes are as follows:  Ratios-016108, Coordinates-251343, &  Compare/Order-186882

Homework: page 545 “Ch. 10 Quiz” (do evens only)

 

Tuesday: Students will write percents as fractions in simplest form and change fractions to percents.   Lesson 10-5; pp 400-403 [6.1.spi.3]  

Homework:   none unless you have not finished yesterday’s Thinklinkpractice probes

 

Wednesday: Write percent as decimals and decimals as percents.   Lesson 10-6, pp. 404-406n{6.1.spi.3} Homework: None

 

Thursday: Students will find the percent of a number.  Lesson 10-7; pp 409-412 [6.1.spi.3] 

Homework: pg. 546 (handout) “Ch. 10 Quiz” (do #s 1-10 at the top and 1-2 at the bottom)

Wednesday: (1) We will check homework (2) Students will complete TCAP Countdown Week 7 (3) Students will go to the computer lab to take Thinklink practice tests and use the textbook website for standardized test practice. Homework: None

Thursday: (1) Students will use models to illustrate the meaning of percent. Lesson 10-4; pp. 395-397 [6.1.spi.3] . (2) Students will complete Mid-Chapter Practice Test in textbook (page 398). We will review answers if time allows. Homework: pg. 397 (do #s 26-31) & Study for Mid-Chapter test.

Friday: Students will review answers to the Mid-Chapter test in the textbook and then take another form of the Ch. 10 Mid-Chapter test to be graded. (2) Students will then work in cooperative groups to solve word problems (page 414). Groups will present answers and explanations to the class. Homework: None
