Week of Dec. 3rd-7th

Monday:Students will change fractions to decimals and vice-versa. Lesson 5-6 and 5-7, pp. 202-209.
Homework: pg. 205 (do #’s 35-42). Also, students should be working on Study Island assignments ( due each Friday).

Tuesday:Students will complete the Ch. 5 Test Review (textbook, pp. 210-212).          Homework: Study for Ch. 5 Test
 

Wednesday: Students will review answers to to test review and take Ch. 5 Test.          Homework: Work on Study Island assignments!

Thursday: Students will make a coordinate plane foldable and begin to name, locate, and plot points on a coodinate plane.       Homework: Work on Study Island assignments!

Friday: Students will locate, name, and plot points on a coordinate plane.

Monday: Students will write mixed numbers as improper fractions and vice-versa. Lesson 5-3, pp. 186-189.
Homework: pg. 189 (do #’s 52-56). Also, students should be working on Study Island assignments ( due each Friday).

Tuesday:Students will complete the Ch. 5 Mid-Chapter Test (teacher handout). The class will review the questions and answers on page 190 of textbook together first.
Homework: pg. 193 (do numbers 6,8,9,11,15)

Wednesday: Students will find the LCM of two or more numbers. Lesson 5-4; pp. 194-197
Homework: Work on Study Island assignments!

Thursday: Students will find the LCM of two or more numbers. Lesson 5-4; pp. 194-197

Monday: Most students will be gone on a field trip. For those remaining, we will work on finding the circumference of circles.

Tuesday: Students will find the circumference of circles. Lesson 4-6 pp. 161-164

Monday:  Students will receive Thinklink Practice Codes to complete practice tests by Friday, Nov. 9th.  Codes can also be accessed by clicking on the “Thinklink” link located on the left side of this page.  Class will begin Ch. 4 “Multiplying and Dividing Decimals”.  Lesson 4-1; pp. 135-138 –Multiplying decimals by whole numbers and evaluating algebraic expressions involving decimals.

Homework:  pg. 138 (do #s 49-54)

Tuesday:  Multiply decimals by decimals [Lesson 4-2, pp. 141-143]

Homework:  none from the textbook Thinklink project is due on Friday, Nov. 9th!

Wednesday:  Divide decimals by whole numbers and decimals [Lessons 4-3 and 4-4; pp. 143-155]

Thursday:  Students will complete the Mid-Chapter Test in the textbook (pg. 148).  We will review answers and then students will complete a Mid-Chapter test for a grade.  Calculators will be used.  Afterwards, the class will practice problem-solving on pages 156-157.

Monday:  Students will find the mean, median, mode, and range of a set of data.  Lessons 2-6 and  2-7, pp. 76-83.

Homework:  pg. 83 (do #’s 9-12)

Tuesday:  Students will find the mean, median, mode, and range of a set of data.  Lessons 2-6 and  2-7, pp. 76-83.

Homework:  pg. 83 (do #’s 21-27)

Wednesday:  Students will complete a review quiz of lessons 2-6 and 2-7.  Afterwards, students will work cooperatively to complete Ch. 2 comprehensive review. 

Homework:  Review for Ch. 2 Test

Thursday:  Students will take Ch. 2 Test.  Students may use notes from study guides received for this chapter. 

Homework:  Finish ThinkLink practice tests if you have not already finished!

Friday:  Students will go to the computer lab and access the textbook website (www.tn.msmath1.net) to take self-check quizzes for a grade.  Students who did not complete ThinkLink practice tests will take those tests first, but will only receive half credit.

Monday:  Students will make predictions from graphs.  Lessons 2-3 & 2-4 (pp. 62-69).

Tuesday:  Students will complete the textbook Mid-Chapter Test (pg. 70) and we will review the answers together.  Afterwards, students will work independently to complete Mid-Chapter Test (handout pg. 117) for a grade.

Homework:  pg. 69 (do #’s 26-30)

Wednesday:  Students will construct and interpret stem and leaf plots.  Lesson 2-5, pp. 72-75 of textbook.

Tuesday:  Students will complete a review of Lesson 2-1.  Next, the class will work together to problem-solve by using a graph (Lesson 2-2a; pp. 54-55)  Afterwards, we will begin Lesson 2-2 “Making and Interpreting Bar and Line Graphs”.

Homework:  pg. 59–do #’s 18-22

Wednesday:  The class will make and interpret bar and line graphs (Lesson 2-2; pp. 56-59)
