Monday:  Students will find the mean, median, mode, and range of a set of data.  Lessons 2-6 and  2-7, pp. 76-83.

Homework:  pg. 83 (do #’s 9-12)

Tuesday:  Students will find the mean, median, mode, and range of a set of data.  Lessons 2-6 and  2-7, pp. 76-83.

Homework:  pg. 83 (do #’s 21-27)

Wednesday:  Students will complete a review quiz of lessons 2-6 and 2-7.  Afterwards, students will work cooperatively to complete Ch. 2 comprehensive review. 

Homework:  Review for Ch. 2 Test

Thursday:  Students will take Ch. 2 Test.  Students may use notes from study guides received for this chapter. 

Homework:  Finish ThinkLink practice tests if you have not already finished!

Friday:  Students will go to the computer lab and access the textbook website (www.tn.msmath1.net) to take self-check quizzes for a grade.  Students who did not complete ThinkLink practice tests will take those tests first, but will only receive half credit.

Monday:  Students will make predictions from graphs.  Lessons 2-3 & 2-4 (pp. 62-69).

Homework:  pg. 65 (do #’s 16-19) & review for Mid-Chapter Test!

Tuesday:  Students will complete the textbook Mid-Chapter Test (pg. 70) and we will review the answers together.  Afterwards, students will work independently to complete Mid-Chapter Test (handout pg. 117) for a grade.

Homework:  pg. 69 (do #’s 26-30)

Wednesday:  Students will construct and interpret stem and leaf plots.  Lesson 2-5, pp. 72-75 of textbook.

Homework:  None

Thursday:  Students will construct and interpret stem and leaf plots.  Lesson 2-5, pp. 72-75 of textbook.
Homework:  pg. 75 (do #’s 28-33)

Friday:  Students will take a quiz over stem and leaf plots.  Students will find the mean of a set of data.  Lesson 2-6, pp. 76-79.

Monday:  Students will make and interpret frequency tables.  Lesson 2-1, pp. 50-53.

Homework:  pg. 53–do #’s 19-24

Tuesday:  Students will complete a review of Lesson 2-1.  Next, the class will work together to problem-solve by using a graph (Lesson 2-2a; pp. 54-55)  Afterwards, we will begin Lesson 2-2 “Making and Interpreting Bar and Line Graphs”.

Homework:  pg. 59–do #’s 18-22

Wednesday:  The class will make and interpret bar and line graphs (Lesson 2-2; pp. 56-59)

Thursday:  Students will complete Standardized Test Practice; pp. 46-47.

Friday:  Students will complete a quiz/review of Lessons 2-1 & 2-2.  Afterwards, students will use Skittles and M & Ms to make a frequency table, pictograph, and bar graph to display the total color data.

Tuesday:  Students will solve equations (Lesson 1-7; pp. 34-37)

Homework:  pg. 37 of textbook ( do numbers 44-49) & study for Ch. 1 Test

Wednesday:  Students will review for Ch. 1 test by completing the Practice Test in the book.  Answers will be reviewed for self-check.

Homework:  Study for Ch. 1 test

Thursday:  Students will complete Ch. 1 test.  Afterwards, students may read a book.

Homework:  None

Friday:  Students will go to the computer lab and take the Thinklink Learning math assesment over 5th grade skills.

Friday: Students will complete a review quiz over evaluating expressions and work with a partner to practice solving word problems.

Homework: Begin reviewing ch. 1 concepts. We will take a test next Thursday (September 13th).

Monday: Students will learn “prime factor” vocabulary and distinguish between prime and composite numbers [6.1.spi.6-lesson 1-3, pp. 14-17 ]

Tuesday: Students will learn “prime factor” vocabulary and distinguish between prime and composite numbers [6.1.spi.6-lesson 1-3, pp. 14-17 ]

Homework: Study for Prime Factors quiz

Wednesday: Students will take a quiz over prime factors (factorization). We will then go to the computer lab and practice utilizing the textbook website (tn.msmath1.net) as a classroom aide.

Thursday: Students will use powers and exponents in number expressions (Lesson 1-4, pp. 18-21).

Homework: pg. 21 (#’s 48-56)

Friday: Students will complete the textbook Mid-Chapter Test on page 22 and go over the correct answers. Afterwards, the class will take a Mid-Chapter test to be graded.

Wednesday:  Students will use divisibility rules for 2,3,4,5,6,9, and 10 [Lesson 1-2, pp. 10-13; 6.1.tpi.4]  Review new vocabulary words.
